Shocking transfer update: Sergio Ramos to leave Real for Manchester United

The Manchester United target, Sergio Ramos, has told the club officials that he wants to leave Real Madrid and asked them to start entertaining transfer offers. Ramos held a meeting with Madrid’s chief executive, José Ángel Sánchez, on Wednesday morning and confirmed his intention to depart after 10 years at the Bernabéu. Real are understood to be willing to pay him €7m (£5.3m) but Ramos believes he is worth more and cannot understand why the club has allowed him to reach the last two years of his contract.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, quickly lodged a £35million bid to tempt Madrid superstar to Old Trafford. Although the opening bid seems to be for independent move, United are said to be keen to sign him in part-exchange for goalkeeper David De Gea.

With Sergio Ramos on the cusp of leaving the club, there have been reports that many Real players are in open war against Florentino Perez. A huge majority of Madrid fans also oppose the latest actions of Perez, saying that Ramos is the backbone of Real’s defense and letting him go would be the biggest mistake Perez will commit.
