FC Inter is on the half way of creating a new offensive duo for the rest of the season.
First signing, Lucas Podolski, landed tonight in Milano and created a delirium at the airport, where a few thousands have gathered to welcome a possible solution for problems in attack Inter have had this autumn. After the first bid was rejected by Arsene Wenger, who said that ‘proposal was farcical’, Inter sent another one, more serious, and since Podolski came to Italy, it could be that the deal is almost closed.
His potential partner in attack may be Ezequiel Lavezzi, an Argentine international currently playing for PSG. Laurent Blanc wants to rebuild his squad as well, and it could be the chance for Inter to snap a former winger of Napoli, whose transfer to the capital of Paris a couple of years ago was worth almost 30 million euros. Roberto Mancini denied interest in Lavezzi and insisted that Podolski is the main target, but it could be that both of them are going to wear Inter’s jersey very soon.
Inter is holding eleventh place on the table of Serie A, which is definitely below all expectations, and they must act quickly to freshen their team since Serie A continues in the midweek. Right in the first round, Roberto Mancini’s squad will have the most difficult game they could have – against Juventus in Torino.
