The German and Real Madrid‘s prolific midfielder, Sami Khedira, has long been linked with a move to Arsenal. According to some reports by Spanish and English media, Arsene Wenger has reached €18 million transfer agreement for the German International. Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have also shown keen interest in Khedira, but they failed to materialize any transfer deal.
It is also being speculated that Khedira will arrive in London later this week to complete this deal when January transfer season officially begins. If the Gunners actually succeed in buying this world-class, defensive midfielder, it will really add strength and vivacity to their problematic defence and help them address their current problems.
However, on a recent interview to German media, the 27-year-old, defensive midfielder, Khedira said that he will be happy to stay in Real Madrid as well. By this statement, it seems that Khedira is trying to keep both his options open.
“If we can reach a solution (over a new contract), I’ll be very happy. I’m confident that soon I will get more of a chance to play. There are other players in my position but that competition is healthy.”
