The Swiss star and Bayern Munich’s winger, Xherdan Shaqiri, has been Brendan Rodgers’ target for months. According to multiple reports by English media, it is being speculated that Liverpool has prepared an £11m bid for the 23-year-old winger.
Known for his dazzling dribbling, passing panache and skills, the Swiss international is considered as a star player in Allianz Arena; however, he has been struggling to make his place in Bayern’s top eleven for past few months. Since a transfer from Basel in 2012, Shaqiri played just 26 league games in over two years. However, this hasn’t stopped clubs from attracting him.
The Italian giants, Inter Milan, has also shown keen interest in Shaqiri by offered £2million for a loan deal. However, Bayern want to sell Shaqiri outright and would like Liverpool to come to the table.
So, it seems that Liverpool are winning the race for Shaqiri and the Reds fans have also cordially welcomed this move linking to Shaqiri. They believe that Shaqiri would be the man to inspire Liverpool comeback in 2015. On the other hand, Liverpool are in a dire need of a quality midfielder; since, Gerrard is on the verge of leaving the club. And, well, Xherdan Shaqiri could be the man to take his place.
