There is always a sense of exotics when it comes to FIFA Club World Cup. The competition which brings a club (or two) from every continent also has something of an essence of sports, since there is a contest between the rich and the poor, the favourites and the outsiders, regardless of their attractivity or bank account. Of course, this is not Hollywood and the poor never win, but the final often gives us one unique match and rivalry in a year: between the European and the South American club(s), although we see it little more rarely since the disolution of Intercontinental Cup.

So, Real Madrid vs San Lorenzo will get face to face today, half past eight GMT – Ancelotti’s side got to the final with a pretty convincing win against Cruz Azul from Mexico, while San Lorenzo had to work hard to beat one of two Oceanian clubs, Auckland, after an extra time. This competition have seen just one victory of South American sides in the last seven years and given the games we’ve seen in a last few days, it is not looking likely will see another tomorrow. Real Madrid is on a 21-match winning streak, which is a club record, and they should be motivated to bring one another title of a champions of the world. It is interesting though that the last official game between Real Madrid and one Argentinian club, back in the final of 2000 Intercontinental Cup, brought a win from Boca Juniors with the two quick goals from a legendary Martin Palermo.

Could we see another fairy-tale or the huge accumulated quality will easily prevail? It is definitely worth watching and if someone is capable of such a triumph, those are Argentinians.
